As required by Section 311, Title 25, of the Oklahoma Statutes, notice is hereby given that the Board of Education of Independent School District Number 15, McClain County, Oklahoma will hold a SPECIAL meeting as follows:

PURCELL SCHOOL BOARD AGENDA

1.         Call to Order – Roll Call.

 

2.         Discussion and vote to approve engagement letter with Mark Rains to provide legal services and advice to the Board of Education in connection with the due process hearing.

 

3.         Due process hearing for Superintendent Tony Christian:

 

a.       The Board President shall convene the hearing, state the purpose of the hearing and introduce the parties.  Upon the request of either party, the President may exclude from the hearing room the witnesses not at the time under examination, except that a party to the proceeding and his or her representative shall not be excluded.

 

b.      Opening statement by attorney for the school District.

 

c.       Opening statement by Dr. Christian or his designee or representative.

 

d.      Presentation of evidence by attorney for the School District, followed by cross-examination of witnesses by Dr. Christian or his designee or representative.

 

e.       Questions by Board Members.

 

f.        Presentation of Dr. Christian’s evidence followed by cross-examination of witnesses by attorney for the School District.

 

g.       Questions by Board Members.

 

h.      Presentation of rebuttal and surrebuttal evidence as necessary.

 

i.        Closing argument by Dr. Christian or his designee as necessary.

 

j.        Closing argument by attorney for the School District.

 

4.         Consideration and vote to go into Executive Session pursuant to OKLA. STAT. tit. 25. § 307(B) (1) to deliberate on the dismissal or not of Superintendent Tony Christian from his employment with the Purcell School District.

 

5.         Vote to acknowledge return to Open Session.

 

6.         Board Clerk’s statement of Executive Session minutes.

 

7.         Vote by Board to dismiss or not dismiss Dr. Christian from his employment with the Purcell School District and recitation of Findings of Fact upon which the decision is based.

 

8.         Consideration of motion to adjourn.
