Progress on the new FEMA gymnasium is well underway. The project has moved past the initial site preparation phase, which included the grading and laying of the foundation. The foundation has been poured and is now curing, with rebar protruding for the next phase of construction.
Construction crews have begun erecting the exterior walls using Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs). This building method uses hollow foam blocks that are stacked and filled with concrete, providing both structural integrity and insulation. Rebar is being placed inside the forms to reinforce the concrete walls. This phase is progressing quickly, with a significant portion of the walls already in place. The walls are braced with support structures to ensure stability before the concrete is poured.
The project is on schedule, with the building's core structure taking shape. We will continue to provide updates as construction progresses.
