Purcell Public Schools is excited to share that construction is moving forward quickly on our major bond projects! The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority, and all necessary protective fencing is fully installed across all active sites.
Here’s a quick look at the progress:
Elementary School Gym Remodel & Saferoom
The Elementary Gym project is officially underway!
Demolition Commences: Tear-down of the existing structure began today on the south side of the building and is scheduled to be completed by November 14th.
Site Preparation: Dirt work has begun to prepare the site for the new saferoom addition.
Intermediate School Saferoom Addition
The construction trailer (project headquarters) has been set up at the Intermediate School site.
Earthwork is scheduled to begin soon, pending the necessary relocation of a main gas line by Oklahoma Natural Gas (ONG).
The FEMA Gym structure is progressing rapidly!
Framing: Steel is currently being erected on the exterior structure to frame out the concession areas and storage spaces.
Roofing: Metal for the roof has been secured, and we anticipate the concrete roof pour will take place next week.
We appreciate the community's support and patience as we build a safer and stronger future for our students! We will continue to share updates as progress is made.
