As we enter the first week of May, our community prepares to celebrate one of the most vital groups in the Purcell Dragon family: our teachers. Teacher Appreciation Week (May 4–8, 2026) is more than just a date on our school calendar; it is a time to pause and recognize the incredible men and women who serve as the heartbeat of our district.

In Purcell, we often say that our schools are the "Heartbeat of our Hometown." If the schools are the heartbeat, then our teachers are the lifeblood. Every day, they walk into our classrooms at the Elementary, Intermediate, Junior High, and High School campuses carrying more than just textbooks. They carry a commitment to:
