Dr. Carr

Purcell Board of Education would like to welcome Dr. Nicolle Carr to the board.  Dr. Carr will assume board seat number #4.  Her great talent, skills and experiences  will be an asset to the board and district.  

Dr. Nicolle Carr graduated from Purcell High School in 1997 and went on to receive her Bachelors in psychology from Oklahoma City University and a Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Texas at Austin (with an emphasis in behavioral neuroscience) in 2005.  In 2008, she became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst which resulted in a position at a residential facility serving individuals with behavior disorders and intellectual disabilities.  

 Dr. Carr currently serves as the director of the Applied Behavior Analysis program at the University of Oklahoma and consults for local school districts on classroom management and behavior assessments. She served on an Autism Crisis Committee at OU Health Science Center and the School Climate & Culture Task Force for Norman Public Schools.  She served as the secretary for the American Psychological Association's Society of Behavioral Neuroscience and Comparative Psychology (Division 6) and the Applied Behavior Analysis Special Interest Group on Ethics. Most recently, she founded the Oklahoma Association of Behavior Analysts (OKABA).  She has written textbook chapters on the ethics of research within special education populations and equitable and ethical treatment of kids with special needs in rural school districts.  Most recently, she is writing an undergraduate textbook for future teachers on evidence-based strategies for students with behavior difficulties.
