We are PROUD to announce Purcell Elementary’s Teacher of the Year, Aimee Walkup! She is a wonderful kindergarten teacher who has taught at PES for 8 years. She goes above and beyond to love and care for students each and every day!
When asked, "What's your favorite thing about teaching kindergarten?" This was her response, "My favorite thing would have to be how much learning can go on in a whole school year. I love watching them come so far in such a short time! Love watching the light bulbs click and see how happy they are when they learn to read! I also really love the relationships that I build with each student. I want them to know how special they are and that they mean so much to me. I love doing hands on learning and foody Friday has to be my all time favorite activity."
Congratulations Mrs. Walkup on a job well done and such a well deserved honor! ❤️🐲❤️

Kindness Week - Random Acts of Kindness for Friday!
Mrs. Franco has placed small buckets outside her office for teachers to notice kindness demonstrated by students. Each day during morning announcements Mrs. Stone draws names from each grade's bucket and shares the acts of kindness over the intercom. Those students come to the office so we can personally thank them for showing kindness and give them a small treat. Here are the students from today's drawing. #DragonCARES 🐲❤️
