🐉💡 Summer is in full swing, but the great work happening in Purcell Schools doesn't stop when the school year ends! This week, our students, teachers, and administrators were busy sharing some of the great work happening in Purcell Schools at the Oklahoma School Innovation Summit 2026 (OSIS), presented by the Oklahoma Public School Resource Center. We take pride in showcasing the innovative work taking place in our schools with educators from across the state. A special thank you to everyone who represented our district at the conference, including Purcell Intermediate students Thomas Montgomery, Shrey Kamdar, Emersyn Resendiz, Makiah McAnally, and Eli Killman, along with staff members Tiffany Cook, Marsha Ambrose, Kayla Sweeney, Sharie Wilhoit, Kendra Dobbins, Tina Swayze, Carolyn Anyong, and Dr. Sheli McAdoo. And thank you to OPSRC for your valued partnership with us. Pictured: Students and Purcell Intermediate staff members demonstrated the impact of the Shoelace program, a literacy platform that personalizes learning to meet each student's individual needs. Tiffany Cook presented on proactive practices that help foster a positive school climate. Dr. Sheli McAdoo shared insights on the CORE Hub and teacher apprenticeship program, offering guidance to schools interested in implementing a similar model. We are proud of our students and staff for continuing to lead, learn, and share! 💡🐉 #PurcellPride #InnovationInEducation #PurcellSchools #OSIS2026

School’s Out for Summer, Dragons!

Dear Purcell Families,

We made it! As the final bells ring and the hallways quiet down, I want to take a moment to look back on what an incredible year it has been. From the first day of school to the final high-fives this week, our classrooms have been buzzing with new friendships, breakthrough learning moments, and endless opportunities.

Whether your student mastered a new skill, excelled in the arts, or cheered on their teammates, they’ve made our community proud. Thank you for partnering with us to make this school year one for the books!

I hope your summer is filled with sunshine, relaxation, and maybe a little bit of dirt under the fingernails. We can’t wait to see those refreshed, smiling faces back in August.

Have a safe and wonderful summer break!

Best,

Dr. Sheli McAdoo

🐉 🍎 Last week's Teacher Appreciation celebration reminded us once again how special the Purcell community truly is.

To our parents, families, businesses, organizations, and community members — thank you for the kindness, encouragement, meals, treats, notes, and support you showed our teachers last week. Your generosity and appreciation are treasured. Our teachers work tirelessly to serve students each day, and it was incredible to see our community pour back into them in such meaningful ways.

We also want to recognize and celebrate our Teachers of the Year, who were honored last week with a luncheon hosted by district administrators. Tonight, they were further recognized by Purcell Public Schools' Board of Education for their outstanding dedication, leadership, and impact on our students.

Thank you to all of our educators for the difference you make every single day. Thank you again to the Purcell community for supporting our schools and staff. 🍎 🐉

It’s Day 4 of #TeacherAppreciationWeek, and we’re reflecting on the lessons that stay with us long after the final bell rings.

Teachers don’t just share facts; they share heart, wisdom, and the belief that every student can succeed. To the educators who stay late, arrive early, and never give up on us: Thank you for being the spark!

It’s Day 3 of Teacher Appreciation Week!

While our teachers make it look easy, we know the hours of prep, the late-night grading, and the constant thoughtfulness that goes into every lesson.

To our staff: You don’t just teach subjects; you build confidence and community. Thank you for the "invisible" work you do to make sure every student feels seen and supported.
