What a beautiful day for the 2025 Dragon Homecoming Parade! ☀️🐲🎉 From the incredible floats that took everyone back to their childhood—Game ON! 🎮✨—to our students, players, cheerleaders, band, and even our Teachers of the Year, it was a celebration to remember! A special honor goes to our Grand Marshal, Mr. Clarry, who led the way with Dragon pride. Kaden Pliler leading us in the National Anthem was absolutely amazing! ❤️🐲🇺🇸 Thank you to everyone who came out to cheer, support, and celebrate together. Our Kindergarten Dragons have been diving into their community workers unit this week! 🐲✨ Today they had a blast making community worker treats for snack time. 🚔🍪🚦🚒 Mrs. Haynes’ class also made a special poster to celebrate what they’ve learned and to say thank you to our SRO, Officer Salgado. 💙👮🏻‍♂️ We love seeing our Little Dragons learn, create, and show appreciation! 🙌🏼🐲❤️

Hat Days are a fun way to celebrate and wear a hat to school, as well as give back to our friends in need. Be creative or just have fun wearing your favorite hat while helping us support our school community! The money from hat day will go to support students who might need a coat, backpack, and other items that support our students and classrooms. Thank you for your support!

Our students taste-tested a healthy drink: watermelon + cucumber + water 🥒🍉💧. The best part? The cucumbers came straight from our very own elementary school garden! 🌱🪏👩‍🌾 The votes were mixed, but most gave it a big thumbs up 👍. Proud of our kids for trying something new and fueling their bodies the healthy way! 💪🥹

We are welcoming donations of kids clothes for our Little Dragons. Thank you for supporting our students!

🌟 Shoutout to Drew Rolin! 🌟 We are so thankful for the amazing work Drew did cleaning and painting our parking lots! Thanks to his efforts, our lots are looking fresh, clean, and safe for our students, staff, and families. Even more special, Drew is a former Dragon himself and now has two little Dragons attending PES! 🐲❤️🙌🏼🎉 We are grateful for your continued support of our school community, Drew—thank you!

Today our Pre-K classes enjoyed our guest reader and author, Mattie Carlile, with the Oklahoma Pork Council. She read her book titled, "It Takes a Team! Pigs and Their Caretakers". What a fun experience to hear from an author! Thanks to Matti and her Nana, Zara Allen, for sharing your love of reading with our classes.

👮🏻‍♂️Today, our new SRO, Officer Salgado, visited each class to introduce himself to our students! We missed two classes that we will catch next week. Mrs. Stone shared about the important safety that Officer Salgado provides at our school, along with the Purcell Police Department 🚔. Students learned about the safety equipment Officer Salgado wears to help keep us safe, and we even talked about ways to say hello when we see him in the halls 👋. We are so thankful for the protection and support he provides for our students and staff. A huge thank you to Purcell Schools and the City of Purcell for making this awesome grant opportunity possible and investing in the safety of our Dragons ❤️🐉!

🌟 Purcell Elementary Teacher & Staff of the Month 🌟 We are so excited to celebrate our September Teachers of the Month: 🍎 Mrs. Jenne – Kindergarten teacher with 6 years of experience! She loves creating a space where students can learn and grow every day. 📘 Mrs. Stubblefield – First grade teacher with 10 years of experience! She enjoys seeing those amazing “lightbulb moments” when students truly connect with their learning. We are grateful for both of these teachers and the joy for learning they bring to their students each day! 💙🩵 We’re also proud to recognize our Staff Members of the Month: ✨ Mrs. Sandra Hernandez & ✨ Mrs. Bertha Olguin – These ladies worked so hard over the summer (and continue to do so!) to make sure our building and district were ready for students. Good morning Dragon families! 🐉❤️ Thank you to those who joined us at our Safe and Healthy Schools meeting yesterday. We had a great turnout, and our new SRO, Officer Salgado, was very helpful. He shared that our school is doing a wonderful job abiding by the one-way traffic flow and wants to applaud parents for the safe driving in school zones. 🚗👏 We also discussed a few practices that are required for the safety of all students and staff, and we greatly appreciate your cooperation: 1️⃣ No phones during drop-off and pick-up. Distracted driving puts students and staff at risk. 2️⃣ Students must enter and exit from the passenger side. Walking between cars is unsafe. If your child needs to exit on the driver’s side, please pull into a parking space to unload safely. *Note- Staff will be directing you to pull in if students aren’t on the passenger side to unload safely.
