With Halloween already out in stores, we wanted to let parents know in advance about Red Ribbon Week in October. Our theme for Halloween dress-up this year is Book Characters! We can't wait to see which book character students pick to represent on October 29th! Thank you for helping us guide our students with dress-up that is school appropriate, free of weapons, blood or vulgarity in nature. Dress-up needs to be able to handle school activities such as pe, recess and bathroom breaks. We are looking forward to celebrating Red Ribbon Week and having fun with dress-up days!

Parents please help us keep students safe in the mornings by keeping students in your car until the doors open at 7:30. We understand that mornings can be a rush for everyone. Dropping students off with no supervision, is not safe. Thank you for helping with this and helping us keep students safe!

We are so excited to be close to our goal of 1:1 iPads at the Elementary! We have grown this year and added another class of students to 2nd grade. iPads are expensive and often times need replaced. I received a surprising phone call from Curt Allison from Suddenlink of whom wanted to give back to our school. What a blessing to our students this will be! Over the past year, Altice USA has pledged $1 million to support schools and student organizations in response to challenges imposed by COVID-19. Suddenlink selected Purcell Elementary to receive 15 iPads as part of this donation. In addition to the iPad they provided our school with 450 composition books. These device donations will increase student access to virtual classrooms opportunities, connectivity, and online curriculum and programs. Thank you, Curt Allison for your support in making this happen! Curt also said that Suddenlink's recent upgrades in our area made them think of us and reminded them how important our community is to them. Purcell Elementary's Education Station Pre-School Center is sponsored by Purcell Public School System and provides learning experiences and structured activities for children ages 3 and 4. Nice job Noah Simmons with leading the Pledge of Allegiance on the first day! #2ndgradeleadership! All teachers and staff did amazing this morning helping students find classrooms and we had almost no tears! Wahoo!!!🎉🎉🎉 Lunch and breakfast went great! So thankful for the amazing team at PES and all the effort that goes into feeding our students! 💕🐉💕 We are off to a great start! ♥️🐉♥️🐉 Remember parents to help us at dismissal by staying in your car. The line up top and right in front of the school as well as the PreK line in the back will go so much smoother when you stay in your vehicle.

We are so excited that we are able to provide an In-Person Open House this year! We are looking forward to meeting Dragon Students and Parents this evening! Masks are encouraged as well as social distancing. The staggered schedule for tonight will help with social distancing and provide an opportunity for a photo opp with your child's teacher. In preparation for the start of school on Thursday, please visit with your student about dropping them off at the door to enter the building with a teacher or staff member. Keeping our staff and students safe is imperative, so visitors are not permitted at this time. At pick-up or drop-off, if you intend to get out of your car, please park. Thank you for your help.
