So proud of our TSA JH and HS programs for their success a State this week. Paul Wollenberg deserves special recognition for his leadership. Thanks as well to hs sponsor Scott Ward. 1st time for high school TSA competing @ State since 2016. Full results pictured below. #oklaed

Congratulations to these athletes for making the Canadian Valley Slowpitch ALL CONFERENCE team:
Kyleigh Wells - senior
Ella Resendiz -soph
Hannah Whitaker - soph
Kaylin Vazquez - fresh

Ray Samford's Botany class cleaned flower beds and planted for the spring. Students can learn skills that can lead to lifelong hobbies like gardening that can be very rewarding. All learning is valuable and sometimes best when it's not about the grade or passing a test. #oklaed

Who Needs a Reality Check? 0n 4/25 our freshman are given an occupation based on their post high school plans. They are then given an amount of play money equivalent to the average monthly salary and experience the REALITY of paying bills and potential financial pitfalls! #oklaed

Thank you Purcell Police Department and Patrolman Kyle Mobley for helping us keep our schools safe. Officer Mobley regularly comes by and assists me with door checks and monitoring our school. We appreciate you! #oklaed #phsdragons

Today is districts for our slowpitch softball team. They will be traveling to Sulphur. First game for our girls is at 11 AM vs Byng. Winner of districts advances to regionals next week. Go Dragons!

I was honored to recognize April Trumbo as our PHS Staff of the Month. I'm also thrilled to announce April was recently hired as our new high school computer teacher. We are fortunate to have April serving our students at PHS. But don't take my word for it, read the praise from one of her colleagues below:
"April has been an amazing member of our staff since she arrived! She has worn so many hats through the years and has done a wonderful job with each! She is great with the students and has a caring, happy demeanor that is contagious! She takes her job very seriously and that is evident every day! Although she has been taking classes continually on her path to her degree (I'm sure it was super stressful at times), she continued to work hard and focus on what needed to be accomplished at PHS."

Congratulations Hayden Ice for his selection to play in the Oklahoma Basketball Coaches Association All-Star game on June 3rd. Way to go Ice Man! #dragonpride

Nothing makes me happier than PHS students working with our younger students. Erica Keen's Wildlife Management students helped with Stephanie Knowles students at the Intermediate to learn the basics of archery. They started with string bows as most have never shot a bow before.

Golf has been putting in a lot of work this season. Brendan Bacon was a top 10 individualist at the CVC Conference Tournament, and named a member of the All Conference Team. Congratulations Brendan! The boys team had their lowest team score on Wednesday while competing at the Kingfisher Invitational. The girls team had their first tournament this week, and competed well. Girls will have regional qualifier on Tuesday at Pauls Valley. Boys will have another week of preparation, and will have their qualifying round on Monday April 24th at Kingfisher Golf Course. Keep working hard Dragons!
