The Purcell High School Boys Varsity and JV basketball game @ Washington on Tuesday is postponed. This game will be rescheduled. JV and Varsity girls WILL PLAY tomorrow night. JV Girls @ 6:00PM and Varsity Girls @ 7:30 PM @ Washington High School.

Heart of Oklahoma Basketball Week: Thursday-Saturday. Both boys and girls teams are currently 7-2 and both ranked in class 3A. Go Dragons!

Due to personnel and staffing issues we are postponing tonight's scheduled varsity home basketball game with Marlow. We will work to reschedule this date. Next week's scheduled game @ Washington on 1/18 and the Heart of Oklahoma Tournament are still currently scheduled to play.


It's a been a hectic week but don't want to forget Coty Sessions performance at the Pauls Valley Wrestling Tourn. Coty won the 107 pd. class. AND won outstanding wrestler of HS girl lower weights. AND Coty placed 7th out of 16 TEAMS all by herself! She continues an amazing year!

Big wins for PHS Basketball. #12 Lady Dragons improved to 7-2 with a 50-26 win @ Lexington. #15 Dragons defeated Lexington boys 61-52 to move to 7-2. Thank you as well to the hard work and support from our cheerleaders! Home game vs. Marlow this Friday night. Go Dragons!

Congratulations Nathan Willis and Raleigh Savage! They were both selected by teachers as January PHS Students of the Month.
Nate is the son of Kymber and Nolan Willis. He plays varsity basketball and baseball, is a class officer and a member of STUCO. Honors include all-conference Basketball, PHS Athlete of the Month, Superintendent's Honor Roll, and Letter P Awards. His favorite class is Internship and his post high school plans include attending college, playing sports and majoring in Health and Science with a sub-major in Computer Engineering.
Raleigh Savage is the son of Sara Savage. His activities include Band, National Honor Society and he serves as a Tech Aide. Honors include Superintendent's Honor Roll 3 years, All-State Band, and Black String Recorder recipient in 5th Grade. His favorite class is History. His post-high school plans are to attend OU for music technology and finance.

PHS Leadership has created a Winter Self-Care board for both students and staff. Physical exercise, good sleep habits, and mental care are always important but can be critical during the winter months. Great job Leadership class promoting healthy habits!


It's a busy week ahead for PHS. A full week of basketball and Academic Team Area tournament this Saturday. We will also honor our January Athletes of the Month during Friday night's home basketball game. Go Dragons!
