
PHS Freshman Kaden Pliler has been accepted to the National FFA Chorus as a tenor. He is currently at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. Kaden has a solo in the song "Bridge Over Troubled Water". Kaden and the FFA National Chorus will be performing on Saturday, during Session 7 starting at 11:30 AM. Earlier this week, Cross Country went to the Chickasaw National Recreation Park for their final run before Regionals. They are in Enid today for their Regional run. Good luck to both of our Cross Country Teams!



This week is Officials Appreciation Week. Purcell and Washington Captains met at midfield to thank the officials for working our football game last night. Without officials, we would not be able to play the sports we love. Thank you to all of our officials! #benchbadbehavior


Yesterday's Hall Walk with the Purcell Football Team, the Dragon Pride Band, and our Cheerleading Team. Yesterday was a great school day with a lot of school spirit.

Very proud of PHS Art Teacher Jon Corea for his collaboration with Lexington Art teacher Cady Wollenberg as they hold the Battle of the Bridge Chalk Art Contest. Thanks to Lexington First Baptist Church for lunch. A wonderful showcase for talented artists from both schools.

It was a huge day for Purcell FFA @ the Norman Regional Contest with one of our teams placing first and qualifying for the State Contest. Amazing work continues by this program under the leadership of Erica Keen. Proud to be a Dragon! I've copied report below from Erica:
All 5 of our Greenhand Quiz Contestants made the top 10! Carli Thomas won 1st in Quiz and qualified for the state contest.
Contestants- Matt Howard, Dylan Smith, Briar Kelley, Josie Kretchmar and Carli Thomas
We also had 2 Opening Ceremonies teams competing. One of our teams placed 1st and qualified for the state contest.

Team 2- Jasey Baker, Kylee Barrett, Josie Kretchmar, Grace Van Oort, Emma Kenyon and Chase Anderson





The Lady Dragon Fastpitch team received the Distinguished Academic Plaque for being in the Top 10% of our class. These girls get it done on the field and in the classroom. Great job ladies!


Congratulations Hayden Ice for being selected Student of the Month by the PHS faculty. Hayden is the son of Krista and Daniel Ice. He is active in SAAC, National Honor Society and plays football, basketball , and track. Honors include Superintendent's Honor roll, All-Canadian Conference for basketball and Region 5 All-District Basketball Player. Hayden's favorite class is Pre-Engineering @ MATC. Hayden plans on attending OU's College of Engineering.


Congratulations Mercer Martin for being selected Student of the Month by the PHS Faculty. Mercer is the daughter of Faith Martin. She is the Student Council President, a member of National Honor Society, Key Club and plays tennis. Her honors include Letter P Award Winner, Superintendent's Honor Roll and Girls Nation Senator. Her favorite class is being Ms. Matthew's Aide and she plans to attend college and major in business before attending law school.

Congratulations to our September Student Athletes of the Month Allison Schlotthauer and Boston Knowles. Allison is a member of the Girls Cross Country team and the drum major for the band. Boston plays football and baseball for the Dragons. Great job Allison and Boston!
