This week in PE, we are learning how to play 9 Square in the Air and the kids are loving it!
9 Square combines volleyball and 4-square into the ultimate community game that gets everyone involved, no matter their skill level. It keeps students moving, communicating, and encouraging one another while building hand-eye coordination and teamwork skills.
We also tied in some math practice! For example: students multiplied their square number by 2 and called out the answer as they struck the ball. It was so fun to see them thinking, moving, and learning all at the same time!
The energy was high, the smiles were big, and every student was engaged. I love seeing learning come to life through movement! đ

Malia Turner played a game of "feeling charades" with Ms. Cochran's third grade class! Can you guess what emotions they're showing? đ đ˘đĽąđđđĽł

Our third graders embraced kindness week with every themed dress up day, daily acts of service challenges, and Valentine's shenanigans! đđ

đ No School for Students â Presidents Day đşđ¸ There will be no school for students on Monday, February 16th in observance of Presidents Day. Staff will be engaged in professional learning that day. Weâll see everyone back on Tuesday, February 17th!

We are incredibly thankful to First United Bank for their thoughtful donation of sports balls! This bag of sports balls will bring lots of fun and excitement to our students! Thank you for your generosity, your community spirit, and for including our school in your United Acts of Kindness initiative. We appreciate you!

Our third graders will be figurative language pros in no time! Miss Windham's class has been very creative and collaborative with their learning, from escape rooms to hands-on activities!
Her class practiced metaphors, similes, and personification with the use of art. They also played hands-on games to learn onomatopoeia, idioms, and hyperboles!

K-Kids will be selling HEART POPS for Valentine's Day.
They will be set up before school each day Feb. 9th-12th and the HEART POPS will be delivered on Friday the 13th!

Happy National School Counselor's Week! We are so grateful for our wonderful school counselor, Mrs. Cook, and family support specialist, Ms. Turner, who pour their hearts into supporting our students, staff, and families. Their kindness, dedication, and encouragement make school a better place every day. Thank you, Mrs. Cook and Ms. Turner, for all you do!
Weâve been learning how to sport stack (also known as cup stacking) in PE! đ
Sport stacking is a fast-paced activity that improves hand-eye coordination and reaction time. By using both hands at the same time, students strengthen cross-lateral brain development, which helps improve concentration, focus, and even academic performance. Sport stacking also builds fine motor skills, encourages perseverance, and boosts self-esteem as students set goals and see their progress. They have learned the 3-3-3 and the 3-6-3 stack! We are so proud of our Dragons!!!đ

Huge thank you to Healthy Schools Oklahoma for another wonderful training! I always walk away inspired and excited, with new ideas and lessons ready to share with my students.
Kristin Gilmore shared over 50 PE teacher hacks she uses with her students, and they were game changers! I learned innovative ways to use equipment I already have, organize and store it more efficiently, connect with students, support hygiene, and overall make a PE teacherâs life easier.
We also had so much fun learning how to play 9 Square in the Air and using the activity set to transform the apparatus into disc targets, hockey goals, shuffleboard, and tic-tac-toe boards. I loved learning how to integrate classroom curriculum into these games while ensuring everyone is involved and feels successful.
So grateful for high-quality professional development and support that truly makes a difference in our PE programs! I'd also like to say thank you to Heather Griffith! She is an amazing addition to our staff and I'm so grateful for her!đđŞ-Stephanie Knowles

Games like Fire đĽ and iceđ§, Bean Bag Tag, Banana Tag đ, Pac-Man đšď¸,Popcorn đż, Zombie đ§ââď¸ Tag, and Tunnel Tag encouraged students to stay active and aware of their space.
Students also played Capture the Ball, an invasion-style game that focused on teamwork, communication, and strategy as they worked together to retrieve the opposing teamâs ball and return it safely. These activities support physical fitness, movement skills, and social skills through fun and active play!
