✨Look at our third graders challenging their word skills! ✨ In Ms. Greenlee's class, her students played "Quiz, Quiz, Trade" with their vocabulary words. Each student has a card with a word and its definition. They partner up, quiz each other, trade cards, and quiz another partner. Vocabulary pros! 🗣️👏 In Miss Windham's class, her students practiced their spelling words with "Word Relay." She provided her students with one of their spelling words and each team had one goal: spell the word the fastest. Each student could only write one letter on the board before passing to their teammate across the field. Athletic spellers! 🏃🏃‍♀️

🩺❤️ Healthy Choices Start Here! ❤️🩺 Today was our annual Health Fair, presented by the amazing OCCC Nursing Program! Our students had an incredible opportunity to interact with the next generation of nurses while learning about important healthy-living topics, including: 🏃‍♀️ Physical Activity ⛑️ Helmet Safety 🦷 Oral Health 🧼 Personal Hygiene 🥦 Nutrition 😴 The Importance of Sleep 💙 Bully Prevention Our students loved learning, asking questions, and discovering ways they can make healthy choices every day! We are so thankful for partnerships like this that bring meaningful, hands-on learning experiences directly to our students. A HUGE thank you to OCCC Nursing for another awesome Health Fair and for investing in the health and well-being of our students! 💚 Healthy students = Healthy schools! 🐉❤️🖤

We are excited to share a special new addition to our playground this year: Buddy Benches!

Recess is at its best when everyone feels included. When a student sits on the Buddy Bench, it lets others know they’re looking for a friend to chat or play with. It’s a small seat with a big mission—encouraging our Dragons to choose kindness every single day.

We extend a warm thank you to Mrs. Cook, our former counselor and current Junior High Assistant Principal, who spearheaded this project from the very beginning. Thank you for your heart for our students and school!

🏓 From Ping Pong to Tennis! 🎾 Last week in PE, our students learned how to play ping pong as a lead-up to tennis! They worked on hand-eye coordination, striking with control, tracking the ball, and developing skills that will transfer directly to the tennis court. A HUGE shoutout to Healthy Schools Oklahoma for providing such an incredible professional development opportunity presented by USTA! During our training, we learned progressions for teaching tennis in PE and, even better, they provided our school with an entire class set of Net Generation tennis equipment for our students! 🎾🙌 We are so grateful for organizations that invest in PE teachers and provide opportunities and equipment that allow our students to try new activities and develop lifelong skills. ✨3rd Grade Fun!! ✨ With our state-mandated additional recess, our students have been very creative in making villages for insects, watching the progress of our safe rooms being built, and enjoying our new outdoor equipment! 🐜🏈🏗️🌼 On top of that, they experienced their first dance day!! 💃 So many memories being made!

This week in Mrs. Gee's math classes, our 5th graders worked together to pack rectangular prisms with pattern blocks while exploring the concept of volume. Learning math through teamwork, hands-on activities, and a little creativity!

Things got a little messy in Mrs. Jones’s 5th Grade Science class! After reading Bartholomew and the Oobleck by Dr. Seuss, students headed outside to make their very own Oobleck! They explored matter and its properties through a hands-on investigation—observing how Oobleck can behave in some pretty surprising ways.

🌳❤️ Our Survivor Tree ❤️🌳 Our 4th graders decorated this tree with messages of hope, courage, love, and remembrance as we honor September 11, 2001. 🍽️ Junior High: Meal option choices will begin at the Junior High level.
