Mrs. Ambrose's class is officially ready for fourth grade! 🎒They wrapped up third grade with an epic final week of daily themes and hands-on fun. From a Beach Party on Monday to a Parent Picnic on Friday, they certainly ended the year with a bang! See you in August, future fourth graders! ☀️⛱️

Can you believe it's already summer??? ☀️🍉 Miss Windham's third graders made sure to finish strong and have as much fun as they could!! They enjoyed various festivities with a different theme every day. Monday was Beach Day, Tuesday was Dinosaur Dig Day, Wednesday was Wild West Day, Thursday was Hollywood Glam Day, and Friday was the final Parent Picnic Day! Her students even wished Mrs. Mc a wonderful retirement and walked the red carpet!! ✨♥️

Throughout the school year, you have probably seen this incredible woman in many of our posts-- Atlee cow updates, chick candling and hatching, butter making, etc. 🐮🐣 Laura Vandaveer has gone above and beyond with our third grade classes and Mrs. Arnold's fifth grade classes. On Thursday, we were able to express our deepest gratitude to her for all the fun, support, love, and patience she showed our students! Thank you Laura!!! ✨💗

Our 5th Grade Fun in the Sun Party was a wonderful success! We loved celebrating our fifth graders and all they’ve accomplished at Purcell Intermediate. We are going to miss this amazing group as they move on to junior high! ☀️🎉🎓🐉❤️
Student Council and K-Kids did a fabulous job organizing, setting up, and helping make this event unforgettable! Students enjoyed a candy bar walk, 9 Square in the Air, volleyball, cornhole, pickleball, Gaga Ball, photo booth, tattoos, bubbles, and so much more!
A huge thank you to our fifth grade teachers, STUCO and K-Kids parents, and all of our volunteers who sent refreshments, worked stations, and helped clean up after the party. Your support helped make the day extra special for our students!
We would also like to thank Landmark Church ✝️ for generously allowing us to borrow cornhole boards for the celebration. ❤️

Savoring the sweet moments (and the snow cones) one last time. 🍧 Thank you Kona Ice for providing such a deliciously sweet treat to our students this school year!!

Miss Windham's third grade class learned about Winnipeg, the black bear who inspired Winnie the Pooh!💛
Her students studied bears, bees, and the pollination process. Through pollination tag and a Cheeto experiment, they experienced a little bit of what the life of a worker bee is like. 🐝🍯Using gummy bears and stuffed animals, her students also practiced their verb tenses and multiplication facts! How fun and yummy!!! 🧸

We have some amazing readers! 📕 These readers have read over 1,000,000 words this school year! 🎉

Today in PE and TEAMS, we had our annual Fruit and Vegetable Tasting! 🍎🥦🍓
Students had the opportunity to try a variety of fruits including papaya, kiwi, golden apples, strawberries, and blueberries. They also sampled vegetables such as bell peppers, sugar snap peas, and cauliflower.
Using their 5 senses, students discussed the colors, textures, smells, sounds, and tastes of each food while learning about the importance of making healthy choices. They discovered that fruits and vegetables are packed with vitamins, fiber, and antioxidants that help strengthen our immune system, support digestion, improve skin health, boost brain focus and memory, and give us energy to stay active throughout the day. 💪🍇🥕
We also talked about the importance of healthy snacking and encouraged students to reach for fruits and veggies instead of chips and cookies whenever possible. We are proud of our students for being willing to try new foods and learn more about healthy living! 🍉✨
Thank you to Healthy Schools Oklahoma and TSET for allowing our students to have these opportunities! 🙌🏻 #hsok #tset

The 2026 Freedom Fun Run was a HUGE success! Our Intermediate students ran their hearts out to honor our veterans. 🇺🇸❤️
Each year, this event has been our biggest fundraiser, allowing us to purchase items for our school, including shade⛱️for our playground area. Thank you so much for participating in this event! Whether you donated 💵, cheered on your child 👏🏻, or ran alongside them🏃🏽🏃🏼♀️, your support is greatly appreciated and helps make opportunities like this possible for our students.

Mrs. Jones’ 5th Grade Science classes have been busy harvesting radishes from our garden!
We’ve also enjoyed time outside with the Walking Classroom... combining movement, discussion, and learning in the fresh air. 🎧☀️

As we begin wrapping up another amazing school year in PE and TEAMS, our students are finishing up their Fitness Testing while still having lots of fun learning new games and activities!
One of the new games we played today was bocce ball. Students worked in teams to roll the ball toward a hula hoop and land it inside while taking turns relay-style. After the first round, they quickly learned that bocce takes a gentle touch and a little strategy!
Tomorrow we are excited for our annual fruit and vegetable tasting 🍒🍇🍓🍉🍊🥕🥒🍆! Coach Franco taught students about the five food groups and had them create their own MyPlate 🍽️in TEAMS to help reinforce healthy eating habits.
We are so proud of all the hard work, teamwork, and growth our students have shown this year!

Do you know what Miss Windham's favorite time of the year is? Earth day!! 🌎💚
Her third grade students learned all about the importance of recycling, reusing, and reducing! They used their own recycled water bottles to create a water filter and experimented which absorbing items would turn muddy water into clear drinking water.💧If you wanted to test out your own, tissues and napkins worked the best in their experiment!
Miss Windham's class also learned about various forms of pollution and how many things contribute to an unhealthy planet. ⛽️ They made a paper mache of a clean earth, as well as an illustrated poster to show the difference between what an earth that is thriving and an earth that is dying looks like. Very artistic and engaging!! 🌏🌳

Coach Knowles recently attended her end-of-year Healthy Schools Oklahoma training, where she gained valuable ideas to enhance student experiences in physical education. During a Field Day session led by Meme Ratliff, she learned effective strategies for planning, organizing, and structuring stations to ensure a fun and successful event for all students.
In the second half of the day, Coach Knowles worked with UTSA instructors who introduced tennis fundamentals and shared progressive teaching techniques designed to make the sport engaging and accessible for every student.
We are grateful to Healthy Schools Oklahoma for providing such impactful professional development opportunities that continue to strengthen our programs and create positive experiences for our students!
