In PE, our 5th graders are on week 2 of our Archery Unit! We set up the targets, checked our eye dominance, learned the whistle commands, learned the 11 steps of archery success, and learned the parts of the bow/arrow. Thank you, to Coach Keen and her first hour high school students for helping us kick off this unit! #dragonpride #archery #perocks #ignite

Last week our 4th graders took on the Titanic unit. They learned a TON of history and information about the ship, passengers, the wreck and more! At the end of the week, they got creative and constructed model ships out of clay. SO FUN!
Ask your 4th grader to share one thing that they learned.

Thank you to our fabulous PTO for helping us kickoff state testing with a yummy snack and making us feel like we are "ALL THAT and a BAG of CHIPS!" #dragonpto #blessed #ignite #rockthetest

Yesterday we celebrated our March Madness Step Challenge winners by taking them to the Heart of Oklahoma baseball tournament! We watched our high school Dragons defeat Little Axe 12-2. It was an incredible experience they will remember for years to come!

In PE we had our first harvest from our tower garden! Thank you, Healthy Schools Oklahoma, for providing this learning opportunity for our students! We are growing tomatoes, cilantro, sweet basil, green peppers, lettuce, rainbow chard, and bok choy. 4th graders, Maria Reyes, Kallie Melvin, Olivia Elledge, Ali Jones, and Amora Parks have been checking the PH balance of the water and adding mineral blends each week for optimum growth. Now it's time to taste it! #hsok #oklaed #perocks #towergarden

Enjoying fruits and vegetables is a great way to improve your health! We tried 10 different types of fruits and vegetables made observations, predictions, and conclusions about each! #hsok #ignite #eatyourfruitsandveggies

After learning all about strikes, spares, and the proper technique of bowling, we lit up the gym for a cosmic bowling experience! We would like to give a huge shoutout to the Purcell Public School Foundation for providing our physical education class with bowling equipment and lights to make this activity one our kids will never forget! #glowbowl2023 #oked #ignite

Here's a look into Mrs. Austin's third grade class this week! They worked on comparing and contrasting one of their stories, as well as playing Bump It Fractions.

Thank you, Adam and Nancy from Missoula, for speaking to our fifth grade students about theater. Everyone had the opportunity to participate in a short improvisation called the Princess and the Pea. What an excellent way to introduce the art of drama to our intermediate dragons! 🎭 🎶
