Purcell Public Schools is partnering with Norman Regional Health System and Norman Regional Health Foundation to provide Norman Regional KIDS Virtual Care. This program has equipped Purcell Elementary, Purcell Intermediate, and Purcell Junior High with technology that allows your child to be seen by a health provider for a virtual appointment during school hours. Common conditions that can be treated through a virtual visit: Ear infections, sore throats, pink eye, flu, sinus infections, upper respiratory infections, allergic rhinitis, asthma flare-ups, and skin rashes. This program is a great resource for the community but the program is not intended to replace your child's Primary Care Physician. We encourage you to follow up with your PCP and continue regular well-visits to ensure your child's growth, development and health are a top priority.
This short video briefly explains the KIDS program https://vimeo.com/583546196
Students who have completed paperwork for the KIDS Virtual Care program can be seen with parental permission. Please visit https://passport.nrh-ok.com/iFiller/iFiller.jsp?fref=934770d6-02cc-4393-a9ce-e136d44538a5 to complete the forms necessary to enroll your child in this program. This week is a national celebration of America's public schools. We take this time to recognize the incredible value and impact of public schools in shaping the future of our nation. Here are five important points about the significance of public schools:
1. Equal Access to Education: Public schools provide education to all children, regardless of their background, socio-economic status, or abilities. They serve as a cornerstone of equality, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to pursue their dreams and reach their full potential.
2. Essential Community Hub: Public schools are not just centers of learning; they also play a vital role in building strong communities. They bring together diverse groups of students, families, and educators, fostering social connections and promoting understanding and empathy among individuals from different backgrounds.
3. Nurturing Future Leaders: Public schools are instrumental in preparing the next generation of leaders, innovators, and contributors to society. They provide students with knowledge, critical thinking skills, and real-world experiences, empowering them to make positive contributions to their communities and the world.
4. Dedicated Teachers and Staff: Public Schools are supported by talented, dedicated teachers and staff who work tirelessly to educate, inspire, and guide students. They are the heart and soul of our education system, shaping young minds and making a lasting impact on students' lives.
5. Strong Foundation for Democracy: Public schools emphasize civic education and the responsibilities that underpin our democracy. Through public schools, we cultivate informed citizens who actively participate in shaping our society and protecting our democratic principles.
Let's come together to express our gratitude for the remarkable contributions of public schools and the dedicated individuals who drive their success. A big shoutout to all the students, teachers, staff, parents, and community members who make our Purcell Public Schools thrive.
