Today was a bittersweet day at Purcell Elementary!🐉 Our students had their final PE class in the current gym — a space that’s seen countless kids, countless games, and countless memories over the years. You can tell just by looking around that this old gym has been well loved and full of laughter. While everyone is a little sad to see it go, we’re beyond excited for the brand-new gym that’s on the way! Even some of our teachers have been reminiscing about their PE days in this very gym just a “few” years ago. ❤️ As we close this chapter, we look forward to an exciting new era for Purcell PE — one that will bring even more opportunities for our students to learn, grow, and play! 🏀💪🐉

🫜Some of our second grade students wanted to join the 2 bite club by trying two bites of a new fruit or vegetable they’ve never tried before. Many of you have probably never even heard of a Dragon Tail Radish but the overall consensus is that it tastes like regular radish only spicier. 🫜😋 Thank you Sandra Walck at Chickasaw Nation Nutrition Services for providing us with this tasty and fun opportunity. ❤️

Thanks to TSET and Healthy Schools Oklahoma some of our kindergarten classes still got a chance to stay active during their virtual day with a Take-Home- PE Bags!! 🏋️‍♀️🏃‍♂️ What a great opportunity to work on staying physically active AND getting to include their families in the fun!!

PHS Cheer Camp was a tremendous success! We extend our sincere appreciation to the PHS Cheerleaders for leading such a fun and engaging event for our students. Our participants represented our school with great enthusiasm and spirit. Nice job!! Go Dragons! 🐲📣💖

Our 1st and 2nd graders were thrilled to see the Eagle Adventure characters drop in for an appearance at dismissal on Tuesday!

Eagle Adventure is an educational program presented through the Chickasaw Nation for our 1st & 2nd graders, teaching students about healthy foods, staying active, and keeping our bodies strong — all while raising awareness about diabetes prevention.

We’re so thankful for this engaging program that helps our young learners understand the importance of taking care of their bodies and making smart food choices.
