Some of our second graders have officially run a mile in PE! 🏃♀️🏃♂️
Since we don’t have a gym to run laps in, our students have been using step counters to track their progress this year. They’ve been putting in the steps a little at a time—sometimes in the reading room and sometimes outside—until they reached their mile goal!
We are so proud of their hard work, determination, and excitement as they crossed this milestone. Way to go, second graders! Keep up the hard work!! 👟👟

Staying safe over spring break is key to a worry-free holiday! 🌞 Whether traveling or enjoying home activities, prioritize safety by planning ahead. Keep your belongings secure, stay aware of your surroundings, and follow local health guidelines. Use proper safety gear for outdoor fun and stay hydrated. Enjoy a safe and fun spring break! #SpringBreakSafety

The Missoula Children's Theatre production of Hansel and Gretel was this past weekend, and our students did a fabulous job! It is amazing to see them pull off a whole play in just one short week. They did auditions on Monday afternoon and did their first performance on Friday. We have to give a huge thank you to our Missoula tour director, Savannah King, for the work she did with our students over the week, and a special shout out to our piano player, Melena Jones. Also, a big thank you to all the Purcell School staff that showed up all week to assist where needed. This would not be possible without them.
We also must thank the Purcell Public Schools Foundation, the Oklahoma Arts Council, and the Holiday Inn of Purcell for their continued support year after year that allows us to keep brining Missoula back to Purcell. We can't wait until next year!

Our elementary students have been learning all about disc golf and other flying disc sports in PE! They’re excited to show their parents what they’ve learned during Health University tonight—there may even be a little friendly kid vs. parent competition. 😁 Be sure to come check it out between 4-7.
A big thank you to TSET, HSOK, and the Edge Disc Golf Foundation for providing our awesome new equipment!

The Bookfair is hopping today with Mrs. Tyler and Mario is here with "Sprinkles of Knowledge" from Waterford! Our students are so excited to show him how hard they are working in Reading! 👷🏼♂️🐲✏️📚

Important announcement: The Book Fair is going COIN-FREE!
This year, our Book Fair will be coin-free due to the national penny shortage. That means students will round purchases up to the nearest dollar — and every rounded-up dollar goes straight into our Share the Fair Fund to help provide books for students in need and new books for our library. ❤️📖
💳 Ways to Pay:
✔ Cash (and we will take coins just not give coins back)
✔ Scholastic eWallet (strongly recommended)
✔ Credit/Debit Card

First and second grade started their reading challenge, Monday, March 2. 1st grade has read 590 books this week! 2nd grade read 494,786 words this week! We have some readers here at Purcell Elementary!
