National Injury Prevention Day on November 18th highlights injuries and violence as leading causes of death for ages 1 to 44. It raises awareness about preventable injuries and encourages communities to adopt safety education and strategies for safer environments. Thank you all so much for giving to our food drive last week! The food collected will go directly back to families in our schools for holiday meal baskets. We collected 750 items for our food drive this year. Our winning class with the most items collected of 122 items was Ms. Franco's kindergarten class, and they got to celebrate with a popsicle party! Again, your continued support of our school and our students is such a blessing. #dragonCARES

We want to express a sincere THANK YOU to all of our donors that will make it possible to provide 55 Purcell Schools families with a Thanksgiving food basket. Some donors gave food and some donated gift cards or gave a $$ donation. The support from our community along with school food drives has been such a blessing. We could not do it without all of you!

🇺🇸❤️ Today in PE, students learned all about what it means to be a Veteran and discovered the different branches of military service! Mrs. Wilkins planned fun, hands-on activities that helped students not only learn about Veterans but also work together as a team—just like our service members do! 💪🇺🇸 We are so proud of our Little Dragons for showing teamwork, respect, and appreciation for those who have served our country! ❤️🤍💙

Tomorrow is the last day for our food drive! Please help us support local families in our community for the holidays if you can. Any donations would be greatly appreciated. All non-perishable food items are accepted but the list below is food items that are in high demand. Again, the food collected goes directly back to families in our community through Thanksgiving and Operation Christmas food baskets. We are forever grateful for your generosity in helping others in need.

Thank you parents and grandparents for bringing students out last night for our Fall into Learning Night at PES! It was a fun time playing Literacy and Math games together and having some yummy treats. We had such a great time together! 🍁🐲❤️ Thank you and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!

Also a big thank you to our Eagle Adventure characters with the Chickasaw Nation for making an appearance at our event. The kids loved getting to see them!

We wrapped up Red Ribbon Week with a coloring contest! The students all did a fabulous job, making it really hard to pick our winners. Coloring sheets were judged based on neatness, effort, and creativity. Our winners are as follows:

Today we shaded out drugs by wearing our favorite hat and sunglasses! Tomorrow is drugs aren't our character- Halloween costume day!

Happy almost November, Dragon Families! We will allow some face paint with costumes tomorrow. It needs to be free of gore or fright and school-appropriate. If it isn't, students will be asked to wash it off. Thank you for helping us keep Halloween at school happy and student-friendly!
