🌟 Purcell Elementary Teachers & Staff of the Month 🌟 We are so excited to celebrate our September Teachers of the Month: 🍎 Mrs. Johnston – Resource teacher beginning her 6th year at PES! She loves creating a space where students can learn and grow every day! 📘 Mrs. Marion – Resource teacher beginning her 12th year at PES! She enjoys supporting students during their day to be successful in their learning! We are grateful for both of these teachers and the joy for learning they bring to their students each day! 💙🩵 We’re also proud to recognize our Staff Members of the Month: Our Resource Team that supports Mrs. Johnston and Mrs. Marion! ✨ Mrs. Sarah Bridgeford, Mrs. Yaceli Minor, Mrs. Marcela Auz, Mrs. Chloe Northcutt, Mrs. Suzanne Torvi, & ✨ Mrs. Amber McAnally – These ladies work so hard to work behind the scene to ensure students are supported throughout their day. Our students are shining because of their dedication and teamwork! 🏫💪 👦🏼🧒🏻🧒🏾👧🏽👧🏼👧🏻 A big thank you to our community partners: 🥤 Sonic for the free drink coupon 🍬 And our own sweet treat to brighten their day! Thank you, Boomerang and Sonic, for supporting our students! Each student received a Student of the Month certificate, a free kid's meal from Boomerang and a coupon for a free Sonic slush!

A huge THANK YOU to the incredible OCCC nursing students! 💙 Thanks to your passion, energy, and knowledge, our annual Health Fair was fantastic! Our students had a blast rotating through your stations and learning valuable lessons about: 🪖 Helmet and Street Safety 🚸 🦷 Dental hygiene 😴 Good Bedtime Routines 💬 Bullying 🧼 Germ prevention 🥦 Healthy eating 🧴 Personal hygiene 🏃 Staying active You made a lasting impact teaching our little Dragons healthy habits they’ll carry with them for life. We are so grateful for your time!

🥅⚽️Our elementary students have been working on their footwork, ball control, and refining their soccer skills. ⚽️🥅 🛣️🚷This week we also combined it with a lesson on “street smarts.” They practiced recognizing some common street signs and what they mean. They also practiced how and where to cross a street safely. 🛑⚠️🚸🚦

Our 2nd graders are working hard and making great progress on their reading and writing skills! 📘📖✏️ We are so proud of their effort and determination each day. Keep it up, Dragons! 🐲❤️

What a beautiful day for the 2025 Dragon Homecoming Parade! ☀️🐲🎉 From the incredible floats that took everyone back to their childhood—Game ON! 🎮✨—to our students, players, cheerleaders, band, and even our Teachers of the Year, it was a celebration to remember! A special honor goes to our Grand Marshal, Mr. Clarry, who led the way with Dragon pride. Kaden Pliler leading us in the National Anthem was absolutely amazing! ❤️🐲🇺🇸 Thank you to everyone who came out to cheer, support, and celebrate together. This week is Dragon Homecoming Spirit Week!
Dress-up is always optional. Remember that Picture Day is Tuesday, students will "Dress to Impress" on that day!
No school on Friday for Professional Development. PHS Cheer will be selling buttons and ribbons on Thursday.

Our Kindergarten Dragons have been diving into their community workers unit this week! 🐲✨ Today they had a blast making community worker treats for snack time. 🚔🍪🚦🚒 Mrs. Haynes’ class also made a special poster to celebrate what they’ve learned and to say thank you to our SRO, Officer Salgado. 💙👮🏻‍♂️ We love seeing our Little Dragons learn, create, and show appreciation! 🙌🏼🐲❤️

💚🐉❤️ A huge THANK YOU to our Purcell Dragon Football Players, Cheerleaders, and of course our Dragon Mascot for greeting students this morning at Purcell Elementary! What a perfect way to kick off Game Day Friday — our students were all smiles! 🎉🏈📣 Go Dragons! 🐲🔥

Friday is Hat Day! Wear your favorite hat and bring a $1 to support Little Dragons in need. #DragonCARES 🐲❤️🧢👒🪖⛑🎩

Hat Days are a fun way to celebrate and wear a hat to school, as well as give back to our friends in need. Be creative or just have fun wearing your favorite hat while helping us support our school community! The money from hat day will go to support students who might need a coat, backpack, and other items that support our students and classrooms. Thank you for your support!

Our students taste-tested a healthy drink: watermelon + cucumber + water 🥒🍉💧. The best part? The cucumbers came straight from our very own elementary school garden! 🌱🪏👩‍🌾 The votes were mixed, but most gave it a big thumbs up 👍. Proud of our kids for trying something new and fueling their bodies the healthy way! 💪🥹

We are welcoming donations of kids clothes for our Little Dragons. Thank you for supporting our students!

🌟 Shoutout to Drew Rolin! 🌟 We are so thankful for the amazing work Drew did cleaning and painting our parking lots! Thanks to his efforts, our lots are looking fresh, clean, and safe for our students, staff, and families. Even more special, Drew is a former Dragon himself and now has two little Dragons attending PES! 🐲❤️🙌🏼🎉 We are grateful for your continued support of our school community, Drew—thank you!
