Our little Dragons had the best time finishing up Kindness Week with our 50’s-themed Valentine’s Party! ❤️🎶
From sweet smiles to sweet treats, our kindergarteners enjoyed sundaes, chips, and lots of yummy goodies while celebrating friendship and kindness. They also had fun sorting and graphing candy hearts. The 50’s outfits were adorable, and the joy in the room was even sweeter than the ice cream! 🍦💕
We are so proud of our little Dragons for showing kindness all week long and ending it with such a fun celebration.
Happy Valentine’s weekend, Little Dragons! ❤️
See you all Tuesday! 🐉✨

📚 No School for Students – Presidents Day 🇺🇸 There will be no school for students on Monday, February 16th in observance of Presidents Day. Staff will be engaged in professional learning that day. We’ll see everyone back on Tuesday, February 17th!

We're still celebrating kindness week and working hard to learn what kindness means, why it's important, and how we can show kindness to others.
Wednesday's kindness drawing winners were:
Kynleigh Etheridge, Lillia Taylor, D'Angelo Estrada, Iris Vile, Elias Chatham, Henry Robison, Makendra Ford and Jemma Schiralli! Way to spread kindness Dragons! We love hearing all the kind things our little Dragons are doing, and it fills our hearts 💞

Thank you so much to First United Bank for donating coloring pages and the bag of balls for our students. We truly appreciate your generosity and your commitment to spreading kindness in our community.
We are looking forward to using the coloring pages as part of a conversation about kindness and how even small actions can make a big impact. The new balls will also be put to great use right away — the kids will be thrilled!
Thank you again for thinking of our school and including us in your United Acts of Kindness initiative.

Don't forget-Soccer Signups close this Sunday, February 15th.

We kicked off kindness week yesterday, and we already have some students who are working hard to show kindness!
Each grade level has a kindness bucket, and teachers/staff can fill out "caught being kind" slips to enter students into our morning kindness drawing who are seen being kind.
Our kindness drawing winners from this morning were Teo Frati Celeste, Dilan Alferez, Zariah Watley, Jagger Gray, Zella Brown and Tatum Cabello. Way to go Dragons! Keep spreading kindness!
Today's kindness theme was "Team up for Kindness Day", wear your favorite team shirt. Tomorrow is "Kindness is the Dragon Way", wear your dragon gear!

Protect your mouth from injury to maintain oral health! 🦷 Be careful with hard foods that can chip teeth, and never use your teeth as tools. Wear a mouthguard during sports to prevent injuries and keep up with regular dental check-ups to catch potential issues early. Stay safe and smile bright! #OralHealth

💛✨ It’s Kindness Week! ✨💛
This week, we’re celebrating kind words, kind actions, and kind hearts. Let’s spread positivity and make our school shine! 😊🌈

💘🎶 Purcell Elementary Valentine Parties!🎶💘
We’re excited to invite parents and families to join us for Purcell Elementary’s Valentine parties on Friday, February 13! This year’s theme is a fun 50’s throwback, so students are welcome to dress up in their best poodle skirts, leather jackets, rolled jeans—and parents are welcome to dress up too! 🕶️👗
⏰ Party Times:
Party times will vary by grade level. Teachers will send out specific party times for each class.
💌 Valentine Deliveries:
Deliveries may be dropped off at school; however, students will not receive them until the afternoon. Please note that flowers and balloons are not allowed on buses, so if your child rides the bus, you’ll need to make other arrangements for getting those items home.
We can’t wait to celebrate with lots of smiles, sweets, and 50’s-style fun. Thanks for helping us make it a great day for our students! 💕🎉

Happy National School Counselor’s Week! 💙🐉
We are so thankful for our amazing school counselors and family support specialist who work to support the hearts, minds, and success of our Dragon students, staff, and families. Their compassion, dedication, and encouragement make a difference every single day, and we are truly grateful for all that they do!💞
Students: If you would like to help us celebrate, write a thank-you note or draw a picture for them this week to show your appreciation. We know it would warm their hearts! 🥰
Let’s show our counselors just how much they are loved this week at PES! ❤️🫶🏽🐲

More kindergarten pics from the 100th day!! They also played an intense game of UFLI Bingo working on heart words, letters, letter sounds and reading words!! Way to go Kindergarten! You guys are 100 days smarter and it is showing!!

Our kindergarteners had a 100-tastic day celebrating the 100th day of school! 👵👴 Dressed as 100-year-olds, they brought so much personality and laughter to the classroom.
Students stayed busy all day making fun snacks, completing creative writing activities, designing crafts, and tackling exciting “100 challenges.” The room was filled with smiles, teamwork, and lots of proud moments as they celebrated how much they’ve learned in 100 days.
And of course, a big shoutout to their Bingo Queen teachers, who helped make the day extra special and full of fun. What a memorable milestone for these amazing learners! 🎉

Today was a great day back together! Here are the updated February menus.
Thank you all, and stay safe and warm this weekend!
