The students got a full walkthrough of the legal process:
The Check-In: We met Katy, the Court Clerk, and learned how to navigate security by going through the metal detectors.
The Courtroom: Students got to see where they would go if they ever needed to contest a ticket.
Pro-Tips: We learned that while you can just pay a ticket before the court date, it is often recommended to show up in person to potentially have your payment reduced.
A huge thanks to SRO Salgado for joining us and guiding the students through the official procedures.

Today we celebrate a huge milestone for senior Chase Anderson! Chase has officially signed his letter of intent to join the Livestock Judging team at Eastern Oklahoma State College on a scholarship.
Livestock judging requires incredible discipline, sharp evaluation skills, and hours of dedication—and all that hard work has officially paid off. We are so proud of Chase’s commitment to our FFA program and can’t wait to see him excel at the collegiate level in Wilburton.
Congratulations, Chase! The Mountaineers are getting a great one. 🐉➡️🏔️

A huge congratulations goes out to Ethan Jones for his performance today at the Central Region Tier 2 State Archery competition!
Ethan traveled to the State Fair Grounds and put on a show, shooting an impressive 260 on the day. We are so proud of the focus and discipline Ethan showed at such a high-stakes event.
A big shout-out as well to Coach Steve Clary for his leadership and for getting our archers ready to compete at the state level.
Great job, Ethan! Keep hitting those marks!

Don’t forget—tonight is the night to support our incredible FFA students! We kick things off at 6:00 PM, but please take note of our layout change due to ongoing construction:
🍽️ Dinner: Will be held at the Farm & Home Building.
🔨 Auction: Will take place inside the Expo Center.
📍 Location: 1715 Hardcastle Blvd, Purcell, OK 73080
We’ve moved things around to make sure everyone is comfortable, so come hungry and ready to bid! We can't wait to see you there. 🐉💪

We are beyond thrilled to announce that senior Paisley Nichols has been named an Oklahoma Academic All-Stater!
This is one of the most exclusive honors a student in Oklahoma can receive. To even be considered for this award, a student must earn a composite ACT score of 30 or higher, SAT score of 1370 or higher, or be a National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist. From that elite pool of applicants, only 100 students are selected statewide based on a rigorous evaluation of their:
Academic Achievement
Leadership Abilities
Motivation
Character
Paisley, your relentless pursuit of excellence and your integrity in and out of the classroom have truly set you apart. We couldn't be prouder to have you representing the Dragons!
Please join us in the comments by congratulating Paisley on this massive achievement!

Science in the Sky! 🪂✈️
Our Aviation 1 class took the classroom outdoors yesterday to put their engineering skills to the test! Students spent the period exploring the principles of parachute design, focusing on how surface area and drag impact flight.
It wasn’t just about making things float—it was about the Engineering Design Process:
Brainstorming the best canopy shapes.
Testing their prototypes in real-world conditions.
Refining their designs based on their observations.
Watching our future pilots and engineers problem-solve in real-time is what it’s all about! Great job, Aviation crew!

This is a great opportunity for our local students, and we're so thankful to be able to provide this for another year. We would love to see you there!
If your child wishes to audition, permission slips need to be brought to auditions with your student on March 2nd, not returned to the school.

Today, we’re taking a moment to recognize someone who makes our halls safer and our students wiser—our School Resource Officer, Rodrigo Salgado.
Officer Salgado is more than just a security presence; he is a vital part of the Dragon family. Whether he’s walking the halls, checking in on students, or guest-starring in our Transition Life Skills class to teach the "real world" of driving safety, his impact is felt across the entire district.
We are so incredibly happy to have him on our team. Thank you, Officer Salgado, for your dedication, your mentorship, and for all you do to keep our school and district a great place to learn!

Our Transition/Life Skills class continued their life simulation today, moving from insurance quotes to the "Fender Bender" phase. We were honored to have our School Resource Officer, Rodrigo Salgado join us to walk students through the high-stress moments following a car wreck.
Key Takeaways for our future drivers:
📝 Step-by-Step: Students learned exactly what to do (and what to say) immediately after an accident.
💳 The Digital Advantage: We learned that while you should always have your license and insurance ready, officers can actually run a license plate to verify insurance if you're in a pinch!
🎫 Myth Busters: Not every accident results in a citation.
✍️ The Officer's Role: Officer Salgado clarified that police don't "determine fault"—they simply write detailed reports based on their professional observations.
Thank you to Officer Salgado for helping our students understand the reality of a "Fender Bender".
