Jaxson Staggs recently placed 11th in the tractor driving contest at the Tulsa State Fair out of 41 contestants. Students have to take a safety test and then drive 2 different timed courses.
Very impressive Jaxson! I can barely drive my push mower in straight lines!

Good luck to PHS Cross-Country as they head to Lexington. A big thanks to Coach Jake Deviney and Coach Ray Samford for their hard work with this program. They have generated a lot of excitement for running from the elementary level through high school.

We were thrilled to kick-off our student driven healthy habits campaign at PHS this year. Awareness campaigns are most effective when led by student leaders. A huge thanks to Jeanae and Aisha, field organizers from TSET, for their focus on tobacco prevention and teenage obesity.

PHS Leadership class conducted mock interviews today. This program has been such a great addition to our school and I appreciate the hard work of Krysta Matthews. This is a great example of the type of "soft skills" all of our students need for college and career readiness.

After revealing the gym floor to our basketball teams, it is time to reveal it to the public. I know all of our student athletes are excited to play on this court. Make sure to come out and watch them this year!

Thanks to Leah Pollan and the League of Women Voters for conducting a voter registration on campus. I was pleased to see many of our seniors register. Oklahoma ranked in the bottom 5 states for voter participation in 2020 according to the Census Bureau. Go vote on Nov 8!
