📢 Dragon Fans, Get Ready for an Exciting Basketball Season! 🏀

We're so thrilled to kick off another fantastic basketball season! We can't wait to see our stands filled with spirit, cheers, and positive energy for all our student-athletes.

To ensure everyone has the best possible experience and a safe environment, we have a few friendly reminders:

Students in Grades K-8: Please remember that all students in grades K-8 must be accompanied by an adult to enter any PPS sporting event. This policy helps us keep all our young fans safe and sound!

Positive Sportsmanship: Let's show our Dragon pride by demonstrating excellent sportsmanship at all times. Cheer loud, be respectful to officials, opposing teams, and fellow fans, and create an atmosphere where everyone feels welcome and valued.

Be a Great Role Model: Our actions in the stands reflect on our school and community. Let's exemplify the highest moral character and support our teams with positivity and enthusiasm!

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work together to make this basketball season safe, fun, and memorable for everyone. Go Dragons! 🐉

Purcell High School formally invites our community to our Annual Veterans Day Assembly tomorrow, Tuesday, November 11th, beginning promptly at 11:00 AM in the Reimer Center.

Veterans Day originated as Armistice Day, a day dedicated to celebrating the brave men and women who have served our nation. President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed the first Armistice Day on November 11, 1919. The day commemorates the armistice that suspended hostilities and effectively ended World War I (The Great War) at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month of 1918.

Immediately following the assembly, our National Honor Society will host a Luncheon for all attending Veterans and their families.

All Veterans and their families are sincerely invited to attend both the assembly and the luncheon. PHS Parents and community members are also welcome to join us for the assembly.

We look forward to sharing this important day of recognition with you.

At Purcell High School, our commitment to democracy starts at the flagpole. We recognize Senior Office Aides Jasmin Olguin, Veronica Rojas-Salas, Brookelynn Walters, and Bryar Kelley for mastering and executing the daily flag ceremony according to the U.S. Flag Code, guidance taught annually to our aides by front desk and attendance secretary Candy Tuck.

This daily ritual connects us to a vital historical practice that dates back to the 1800's and established public schools as a foundation of our Republic. Thank you for your service as we move toward honoring our nation's heroes at our Veterans Day Assembly next Tuesday!
