What a fun and exciting two days it has been at Firelake Ballfields for softball state. The crowd has been electric, and the girls are playing so well. Today, they win over Blanchard 9-0 to advance to the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!!! We are so incredibly proud of the girls and coaches who have worked so hard to get here.
Tomorrow's championship game will be played at Marita Hynes Field on the campus of OU at 12. You can park across the street at Reeves Park, or you can park just South of the stadium. Attached is a map to show areas for parking.
Please see the attached "Carry In" policy for tomorrow's game. The only bags allowed are clear bags. There are several items prohibited such as signs, flags, strollers, chairback seats, and ALL noise makers.
Tickets are already for sell on GoFan. Please make sure you purchase tickets for Day 3 of the State Tournament. Let's bring the noise as our Lady Dragons play to bring home the GOLD!! Go Dragons!

Congratulations Kassi Buchanan: PHS Staff of the Month. Kassi is the High School Registrar. Please read a tribute from her colleagues who nominated her:
Kassi came back to PHS this year and it has been so glad to have her back! She does her job efficiently and always with a smile. No matter the problem or task I have, there is no hesitation to helping me or anyone else that comes across her path. Thank you Kassi for returning to us!!
Kassi knows what to do and works really hard to keep things running smoothly and is such a valuable resource for all teachers as well as office personnel.

Service is one of our core values @ PHS. Purcell FCCLA sponsor Stefanie Renfro does a tremendous job of embedding this value into her lessons and activities. Please read below:
Each year, PHS FCCLA members focus on ways that they can serve others in their community. This year, members have chosen to focus on the residents of Purcell’s nursing homes and care centers.
Today, FCCLA members volunteered at Purcell Care Center. The students planned, prepared, and organized a craft project to do with the residents with the hopes to provide fun, entertainment, and social interaction for the residents. The activity was a success for both the residents and the students.

Our PHS Chapter attended the Oklahoma TSA (Technology Student Association) Lead Conference today in Guthrie. The purpose of TSA is to promote STEM and Leadership through competitions. I'm very pleased with the growth of our high school TSA program and credit our student leaders and sponsors April Trumbo & Paul Wollenberg. Sophomore McKenna Martin is a STATE OFFICER (state reporter) which is a pretty big deal! Way to go McKenna and all TSA students.

The aerospace industry is the fastest growing industry in Oklahoma. This industry offers exciting and high-paying jobs. Career Techs & High Schools are partnering to provide our students a pathway from high school/career tech to work. We are excited to be a part of this progress. Our Aviation 1 students, under the guidance of veteran PHS teacher Jack McNeely, launched their hot air balloons this week as they learn the basics of flight! #phsdragons
