In Ms. Greenlee's class, the students went through different team building challenges involving putting a puzzle together. The first challenge included non-verbal communication and the final challenge was talking about where the puzzle pieces belonged, rather than doing the puzzle all by themselves. They learned how to effectively communicate and work together to accomplish their given task!

In PE, we discussed the 5 food groups and what a healthy plate looks like! We learned the benefits of each food group and discussed the difference between "sometimes foods" and "everyday foods!" The five main food groups have different benefits, and eating a variety of foods from each group is important for a healthy diet: Fruits and vegetables: Contain vitamins, minerals, and fiber, which help with digestion and may lower the risk of some diseases. Grains/Carbohydrates: Provide energy for everyday activities and bodily functions. Proteins: Help build and repair bones, muscles, skin, and blood. Dairy: Contains calcium, which is important for strong teeth and bones.

This week, third grade has been reading the story "The Dream Catcher." In Ms. Windham's class, the students learned about the Ojibwe culture and how to create their own dream catcher the way the main character, Peter, did in their story! Also, they used various manipulatives during math rotations to practice new rounding and place value skills.
