This week in PE we did lots of basketball drills which included jump stops, the triple threat, pivoting, passing, dribbling, and shooting! We played 21, Gotcha, Hotspots, and did some scrimmaging in the upper grades. Good luck to all the dragon ballers playing this weekend!!! 💪🏼🏀🔥🐉

In PE, we’ve been playing Winter Wonderland Games created by OPEN this week! Holiday Light Fight is a relay-style game using dice and cones. Roll a number and flip that light on! These kiddos definitely got their heart rates up! We also played Climb the Christmas Tree integrating addition and multiplication facts and Feed the Reindeer which encourages teamwork, communication, and locomotor movements. #perocks #winterwonderland #ignite

Basketball is in full swing at Purcell Intermediate! This week we are working on ball-handling, dribbling, and passing. We are learning to dribble with both hands, keeping eyes up, and ball control. Dribble Knockout has been a fun way to bring it all together! #perocks #dragonbasketball #ignite

We would like to give a shoutout to Coulter West and Lexi Little for showing leadership and kindness this week! Coulter was recognized at our morning assembly for being selfless during the 4th grade music program, and Lexi Little ran an extra down-and-back with a friend during PE. These students did this completely on their own without being asked! Super proud of our young dragons! #dragonpride #caughtyabeinggood #ignite #leadership

Fourth grade had the opportunity to experience the excitement of NBA basketball in an educational environment. They travelled to OKC to participate in one of the Oklahoma City Thunder Blue Field Trip Days! The Blue partners with the Science Museum of Oklahoma to present STEM facts, videos and activities throughout the game. It was a great day filled with new experiences and memories made! THANM YOU to the parents who went along to sponsor!! ❤️🐉🤍 #4thGradeDragons #4thGradeFieldTrip #OKCBlueFieldTripDay #Thunder
