Look who made the nice list this year!! Pre-K was surprised today by a very merry guest! Santa even brought his reindeer in training, Randolph. He came bearing gifts too. The students all received books and candy canes. Thank you so much to Purcell Fire Department and Delta Head Start for helping make this possible!

She has done an amazing job inspiring, teaching, and practicing with our Second Grade Students to present their program, We Give Thanks, this evening! It was such a blessing to everyone! Thank you so much Dragon families for giving of your heart last week to our Holiday Food Drive. We had 1,279 food items donated. The food collected will go back to families in our community through the Lil' Dragon Food Pantry and Operation Christmas. Mrs. Haynes 1st grade class collected the most items and will receive popsicles! Way to go!

PES October Teacher & Staff of the Month: Special Education teacher Mrs. Taryn Johnston & Reading Assistant Mrs. Barbara Smith Read what their colleagues had to say about them: Taryn: She is a Rock Star! She is always up for any challenge handed to her! She is always willing to help even with students that are not hers! She works so hard and provides the best care for the kids in her class! She does her job with the best foot forward, works so hard for her kids and loves them like her own! Taryn shows so much care and compassion towards each of her students. She is always very positive and seriously has a heart of gold. She shows dragon cares by working with everyone to do what’s best for the kids. She always has an awesome Attitude and is someone I enjoy coming to work and seeing. She has empathy with everyone and especially the kids and tries to see things from their point of view. Taryn goes above and beyond for so many teachers as well as students. She works so hard and doesn’t stop. Barbara Smith: She is always willing to help wherever she is needed!! She has saved me countless times by coming in and helping with whatever I have going on!! She is an incredible human! She is always jumping in to help, no matter the task. She volunteers to help teachers stay organized, keep an eye on classes, clean up disaster spills in the cafeteria. Anywhere she sees a need, she’s on it! She is always willing to help!! Great person all around. Both are very deserving ladies, and we are so thankful to have them here at PES! #DragonCARES

Thank you parents and grandparents for bringing students out tonight for our Fall into Learning Night at PES! It was a fun time playing Literacy games together and having some yummy treats. We had such a great time together! 🍁🐲❤️ Thank you and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! We need some help. We had free books offered in the PreK hall but if you picked up books from the cafeteria we need these back. They belong to our classroom teachers. These were just to read here and enjoy a story with your child. I am sorry for any confusion and would be willing to let your child trade it for another book. Thank you for your help and thank you for such a great evening of fun together!🍁❤️🐲🎉

This Thursday, November 9th is our Fall Into Learning Night @ PES! Learning is fun and we would like to share a night of learning with you! Please join us with your Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st or 2nd grade Purcell Elementary student and FALL in Learning with us at PES on November 9th from 5:30-6:30, come and go. There will be literacy activities, crafts, games, and treats throughout the building upstairs and downstairs. We will have a book sale in the library. All books will be under $5, check or cash only, please. JOM students will also be in the library offering tattoos provided by PTO. Pre-K: Cakewalk with uppercase letters in the music room. Kindergarten: Popcorn (kinder hall) Sight word bean bag toss 1st grade: Pumpkin Painting (cafeteria) Fall Books for parents to read with their child. 2nd grade: Cornhole (2nd-grade hall) Hot Cocoa in a bag (sequencing) in a 2nd-grade classroom In the Library: Book Sale & Tattoos We will also have Nothing Bundt Cakes, Kona Ice & Chick Fil A on site! Nothing Bundt Cakes and Kona Ice give back a portion of their proceeds to our school. Thank you for your support! 🐲🍁📚
