In PE, we’ve been playing Sink the Ship! Students are using a variety of movements such as overhand and underhand throws to knock down cones, traveling on scooters to collect balls, as well as squatting and lunging to defend their cones. They are also sharing responsibilities and communicating with their crew members during this game! #perocks #sinktheship #teamwork #ignite

Mrs. Knowles and Purcell Intermediate joined Healthy Schools Oklahoma in 2020 and focused on two main areas as a freshman school, physical fitness and nutrition.
Students participated in health lessons such as reading and understanding labels on foods/drinks, portion size, sometimes foods vs everyday foods, and My Healthy Plate. They also participated in a step challenge using pedometers provided by HSOK, and fifth grade students attended a virtual health fair hosted by OU Med students.
Purcell Intermediate was named Rookie of the Year by HSOK for its dedication to providing health curriculum and activities to staff, students, and their families. #dragonpride #hsok #healthymindslearnbetter
Coach Knowles attended the Healthy Schools OK Summer Institute at the Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital this week! She will be implementing action based learning techniques, new health lessons, and awesome games such as spike ball and pickle ball!
